The sensor is used to detect precipitation. It is powered with the voltage of 5 V. It has digital and analogoutput, making it compatible with most of the commissioning modules including Raspberry Pi and Arduino.
The device consists of three parts: measuring probe, detector's module and wires. The probe needs to be combined with the main module using wires. Potentiometer located in the module, allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the sensor.
The sensor has a digital output D0 that indicates the occurrence of precipitation and analog A0 to measure the strength of the rain. On the board are also two LEDs: first - to indicate a correct power connection and the second - indicating the occurrence of precipitation.
After detecting the precipitation, the D0 output is changed from a high to a low status. Sensitivity, that is, the voltage threshold can be adjusted using the potentiometer. The D0 pin can be connected directly with a microcontroller or development kit or, for example, a module of a buzzer, which will signal the emergence of precipitation.
The sensor also has an analog output A0 which must be connected to the pin of the converter A/D (analog input in Arduino). It allows for the reading of the measured intensity of precipitation.
