Product description: D24V22F12 - Step-down converter - 12V 2.2A - Polyol 2855.

A step-down converter (buck) used to supply power to systems operating at 12 V. The advantage of the system is a wide range of input voltages from 12.7 V to 36 V.. The D24V22Fx module allows for current consumption of up to 2.2 A.

Converter outputs

Pin Description
VIN Input voltage.
GND Mass potential.
VOUT Output voltage.
ENABLE If a low voltage of less than 0.6 volts is applied, the system will go into a low power consumption state (approx. 20 μA). The pin is pulled to the supply voltage through a 100 kΩ resistor, which makes the system switched on by default.
PG Power quality indicator. Open drain type output that goes into low state when voltage drops below 10 V and high state when voltage reaches over 11 V. An external pull-up resistor must be used to use it.

System efficiency

Efficiency is defined as the ratio of output power to input power (Power out)/(Power in). This is a very important parameter when working with portable energysources(batteries and accumulators), where the time of operation on one charging cycle counts. The efficiency of this pulse system is about 90 % - 95 %.

Voltage drop-out

The parameter referred to in the documentation asvoltag drop-outthennecessary for the proper functioning of the system,minimum difference between input and output voltage.For example, if the drop-out is 1 V and the desired output voltage is 12 V, the supply voltage should be higher than 13 V. The figures below show the drop-out voltage value for D24V22Fx.
