Product description: Bluetooth Module HC-05

A simple communication system based on the Blootooth module HC-05 v2.0 + EDR. Communication is via the serial UART interface using AT command. Works with a voltage of 3.3 V, which means that for a user with platform 5 (for example, Arduino Uno or Leonardo) of the required voltage Converter.


In addition to the module HC-05 on the Board are:

  • the led connected to pin statusowego PIO1 (lit signals a proper connection),
  • derived pin KEY connected to pin PIO3,
  • resistors to protect the lines of UART interface - 1 kOhm,
  • voltage stabilizer power supply 5V -> 3,3 V
  • the capacitors that filter the power supply voltage,
  • goldpin soldered connectors to connect the attached module to the contact plate or connect using wires.


To start the module, you must connect the supply voltage: 5 V to pin, marked 5.0 or 3.3 V for output 3.3. The module is detected via the computer as unknown location or HC-05 to pair your device you need to enter the password: 1234. The system will display a virtual COM port using any terminal can transmit data. Circuit Board has insights serial interface UART pins TX and RX that you can connect, for example, with Arduino or the computer via the FTDI adapter.


Despite the fact that in the network there are projects in which the layout of the HC-06 is connected directly to the pins 5 V, for example, Arduino Uno, it's for security, we recommend the use of a voltage Converter 3.3 V - 5 V.


Messages you can check the steaming module from the computer and connecting plate using the FTDI Converter. In two terminal Windows you should select appropriate ports and also specify a baud rate of 9600 bps. If the configuration is correct, the text, sent from one terminal will appear on the second.


Configuration of the module is via the popular AT command to enter this mode, you must connect the KEY output to 3.3 V. an Example of the command is:

  • AT - connection testing, in return we get "OK".
  • AT+NAME - returns name of device.
  • AT+NAME=XXX - change the name of the module on XXX.
  • AT+UART - returns the configuration of UART interface, three comma separated values: speed, stop bits, parity.
  • AT+UART=9600,0,0 - modifies interface configuration UART: baudrate 9600, 1 stop bit, no parity.
