Description

Driver based on the MOSFET transistors allows you to control one DC motor, powered by voltage from 5.5 V to 50 V with current consumption of up to 20 A.

The leads were deployed on both sides of the module. On the one side are the connectors responsible for the control and power supply of the logical part. On the opposite side are the power pins of the motor (V+, GND) and its outputs (OUT, OUTB). The voltage of controlling signals must be in the range from 3.5 V to 5.5 V. The manufacturer does not recommend working at the voltage of 3.3 V.

In a standard installation, it is only required to connect the signal PWMH and pin of selecting the direction of DIR motor rotation. Flags FF1 and FF2 indicates incorrect operation of the system. Pin RESET, by default, is pulled-up to supply. When the status low is brought, the system will go into a state of minimal energy consumption. All flags will be reseted.

Set includes

  • Driver module
  • Electrolytic capacitor
  • The goldpin strip
  • Connectors ARK

High-Power 36v20 50V/20A - opis wyprowadzen

PIN Description
V+ Motor power supply (5.5 V-30V). The lead denoted by the symbol + is the positive pole of the connection to the capacitor. Smaller leads V+ allows you to control the power of the engine. Not recommended for high currents.
5V (out) The output of the voltage regulator is 5V. The output current up to a few mA. Be careful to avoid a short circuit with the adjacent pin V+ as it leads to irreversible damage of the module.
VCS Sensor's supply voltage - connect the voltage 5 V
GND The potential of mass of the system.

OUT

OUTB

Leads for the DC motor.

CS

The output of the current sensor ACS714 with the sensitivity of 66 mV/A
PWMH Signal rotary speed control. By default, in the low state
PWML
DIR The choice of the direction of rotation of the motor. In the high state, the current flows from the lead OUT to OUTB. By default, in the floating state (float).
RESET After indicating the low state, the system is in a low power consumption state. It also removes all the flags.

FF1.

FF2

Flags of system's state. In the event of an error, the state is high.

The inputs of the circuits are working with the logic 5 V. Minimum voltage read as the status low is 3.5 V. The manufacturer recommends to use a logic level converter for working with voltages of 3.3 V.

Flags of system's state

The state of FF1 and FF2 leads inform the user about the current status of the systemHighPower. The description of individual sequences is presented in the table below.

FF1. FF2 Description Blocked
outputs
L L No errors NOT
L H Short circuit YES
H L Temperature too high NOT

H

Voltage too low NOT

Modes of operation

The driver can operate in several modes:

  • Drive-brake-In use are signals DIR and PWMH, PWML remains disconnected or pulled up to 5 V. The direction of rotations, is set via the logic state on the lead DIR, PWM signal is indictaed on the pin PWMH, controls the rotational speed of the engine. In the case of indicating the low state on the lead PWMH (fill 0 %), motor leads become compact and the sharp braking starts.

  • Drive coast- In use are the signals DIR and PWMH, and PWML which are connected to one PWM lead. The direction of rotation is set via the logic state on the DIR lead, PWM signal indicated on pin PWMH and PWML controls the rotational speed of the engine. In the case of providing the low status on the lead of PWM (fill 0 %), motor leads are disconnected and the engines will be free to move.

  • Brake-caost-PWMH lead is not connected or pulled up to the mass. The PWM signal is connected to the lead PWML (pin DIR is ignored in this mode). In the case of indicating a high state (fill 0 %) on the PWML lead, a slight engine braking will begin. Low state means free rotations of engine - with no power.

  • Locked-antiphase - the PWML lead is left unconnected or pulled up to 5 V, PWMH is connected to the high state 5 V. The PWM signal is connected to the DIR lead. To indicate the high state (fillings over 50 %) on the lead DIR, indicates the motor rotation in one direction, to indicate the low state (filling below 50 %), rotations in the opposite direction.

Truth table
