The MeArm project was launched in March 2014 by Mime Industries under the inspiration of the uArm project, which was funded through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. In the four years since the project began, the robot from Mime Industries has been developed very quickly. The MeArm is a do-it-yourself robotic arm that makes it easy to introduce kids and adults to robotics, electronics and programming. The MeArm robotic arm can work with Arduino, Raspberry Pi and BBC micro:bit platforms. The MeArm is a great example of combining fun with useful learning.

MeArm - A robot that supports education in many fields

MeArm is one of the many proofs that learning and fun go hand in hand in an interesting way with good results. By assembling and observing the movements of MeArm, we have the opportunity to learn the basic aspects of mechanics and mechanical engineering - its construction from the perspective of classical mechanics has four degrees of freedom. Also due to the possibility of the robot arm to work with platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi or BBC micro:bit, MeArm is a very good solution as an introductory tool to learn programming, including observing the effects of the hardware layer depending on the program code, on the basis of which the control of the robot arm is realized. As you develop basic robot programming skills, you will be able to design applications on the MeArm in languages such as JavaScript, Python or Snap! The MeArm robot also allows you to learn basic geometry and programmable image drawing.

MeArm starter kits with interesting accessories

Botland offers three versions of the MeArm robot, each compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi or BBC micro:bit respectively. The kit includes clear blue plastic parts for the robot arm, Allen screws with matching wrench, four servos with metal gears, connecting wires, and a control panel with two joysticks. The MeArm robot is powered by a micro USB port. Depending on the version, you will need to buy an Arduino, Raspberry Pi or BBC micro:bit board to run the robot.
