MakerPi - a relatively unpopular company on the Polish market - belongs to the group of those manufacturers of 3D printers whose devices at first glance clearly distinguish themselves from their competitors. The constructional form of MakerPi printers is based on solid, closed or (less frequently) semi-open housings, hiding all necessary components: control electronics, power supply, as well as axis feed mechanisms. This approach to the design of FFF technology devices stands in opposition to many amateur models with a completely open design, with virtually no housings. A very important advantage of MakerPi printers is also the fact that they have been created with different needs of users in mind, both beginner amateur 3D printers and advanced customers providing fast prototyping services or companies using incremental manufacturing technologies in their own research and development work.

MakerPi M1 - an ideal choice for beginner 3D printing enthusiasts

The MakerPi M1 3D printer attracts attention with its particularly interesting design, based on the assembly of two metal sheets, properly profiled, forming a semi-open, extremely aesthetic casing. What is interesting, unlike most of the 3D printers on the market, the work table in this model extends quite far beyond the outline of the casing (in the Y axis, i.e. in the forward-reverse direction), thanks to which the designers from MakerPi managed to significantly reduce the size of the device. It is interesting that MakerPi M1 has almost no user interface elements - display, keyboard or encoder knob, so popular in other models of devices. The creators of this interesting model have come to the otherwise revealing conclusion that... a 3D printer can be operated with just one button! The One Touch Button function automatically prints a file from the memory card, without any additional settings.

MakerPi K5 Plus - the flagship among MakerPi machines

The Chinese manufacturer, whose headquarters are located in an industrial park in Shenzen, also offers an advanced model MakerPi K5 Plus. The device has a closed construction, and access to the inside of the working chamber is provided by a transparent door covering most of the front wall of the enclosure. The 3D printer is supported by a high quality 4.3" colour touch screen on the top. The entire device has external dimensions of 400 x 400 x 500 mm. The flagship has a number of innovative solutions, which are vainly sought after in many competing printers - a filament end sensor with audio alarm or the ability to print directly from a USB stick is just the beginning of the list of conveniences that MakerPi K5 Plus model provides to its users. The most interesting feature of the new 3D printer is the modular design of the print head - the whole unit (hotend with heater, temperature sensor and solid heat sink) can be extended with one hand movement, making replacement of the nozzle even childishly easy. Importantly, the MakerPi K5 Plus model can be easily converted to laser engraving mode, as the manufacturer provides a compatible laser module.
